New Home... New Fashion

Yesterday, I moved into Roehampton University and I am sitting in my own room on a floor full of girls (with one guy - one might call him lucky, others... not so much). Yes, it is Greater London therefore, let the individuality of the streets of London begin!
Already, I have seen so many stylish teens in my uni. Just looking across the field before... Literally covered with people of diverse cultures, each with their own USP (unique style point) and it is amazing to me that there is so much diversity! I am going to have fun looking at all the different trends and I can never say that anyone on this campus is boring! It's only my second day here and I know that it rocks!

Next... actually going to Central London! It is very exciting times!!

Also, I would like to thank LOOKVILLE for inviting me to join their website to give fashion adivce and share tips. Sometimes I feel like no-one reads this blog but it's great (and seriously puts a smile on my face!) that people have come across this blog and actually found it interesting!

Mucho love,

La Chica.

Dedicated to Gemma Doughty

This blog is dedicated my number one reader as I found out last night! She is the sister on Facebook and my fellow fan of Vampire Diaries (yeah.. she's the one that sent me the link to catch up with America!).

But... I haven't blogged in a while and there has been so MUCH that has happened in the past few weeks since the Land of the Turks!

First of all... there was the best holiday of my life with my cousin! Tenerife... La Isla Amable. You could say it is my favourite place in the world and also my second home! One week of drinking, dancing and (nearly) dying... thanks to an excessive amount of alcohol consumed. Needless to say, from that description, you have to know that it was a good holiday!

The night time of my holiday started off as watching Big Brother at 10pm and at the same time, opening the cheapest bottle of vodka from the supermarket. After an hour of 'OMG' goss from the house, we would get ready to the ipod which consisted of the newest Summer 2010 music (that I now can't listen to without thinking of Tenerife)! Then, more drinking. Then, our Cornish friends would come to visit and drink with us. Finally, at about half past midnight (no Cinderella curfew for us) we would go and jump in the taxi and head to Mett Bar for a fishbowl! A lot of alcohol consumption in just one fishbowl. A dance on the poles, head to Linker's and dance some more! At 4am, Lineker's and Mett Bar closed, so it was off to either Tramps or Rags for an hour.

Proudest moment. My first day, I woke up at 2.30am to travel to the airport and travel to Tenerife. I had no sleep in the day and I went out that night and didn't return back to the hotel until 5.30am Wednesday morning. That is 27 hours without sleep and I LOVE my sleep!

It was so sad to leave! Especially as we had a new little family! Because of this amazing holiday, my cousin and I are returning next year for the whole of the summer! June through to August and Tenerife will not know what has hit them! The only thing is... money. We need to raise around about £2500 for the entire summer which includes accomodation, flights and spends! We can do it, because nothing is stopping us from returning to our favourite place.

BIG BROTHER! 'I love it!' 'I'm buzzin!' Also, in Tenerife, we adopted Josie's bristolian accent regarding the words: 'Me mucker' and 'Me loverr' I LOVE BB! I'm currently catching up with all the action! Especially between John James and Josie!

And lastly, right now my lunch is in the oven... a beautful steak pie! My stomach is rumbling! I cannot wait to savour the gorgeous gravy and awesome steak! Mmmm.... very hungry.

Land of the Turks

I'm still tired from Turkey! And I have a 6am flight to Tenerife tomorrow morning! Busy, busy, busy.

Turkey was amazing! Beyond words! I loved it! True, there were hiccups including the norm that is to be expected on a girls holiday, especially with ten girls. Also, the typical (unlucky) holiday hiccups including a four hour delay on departure and a further four hour delay to come home including an hour sitting on the plane! And when you want to come home... you seriously want your own bed.

Market Day and Galaxy Bar were the highlights of my holiday. Galaxy Bar was the place where we had our nights out and they loved us so much that we all got a free t-shirt with 'Galaxy Girl' on the back, or there was the option of the men's tee which is hilarious - one of those double images. Very rude. And the market day... I was truly in my element of haggling and bartering for the cheapest prices and I got them! I spent about 50-60TL when some of my mates spent 200TL.

But... that was one holiday and now I have to pack for another and I swear that I am going to take less things... I doubt it! I've bought four new outfits, one even from Topshop! I am no longer a Topshop virgin! I really wanted this outfit - fitted crop top, high-waisted shorts and eventually my mum found the top! I was ecstatic. Also, a maxi dress, a Selfridge's dress and a 50s jumpsuit to add to the collection.

Currently, I'm updating my ipod with the new Now 76 album which has at least three of the Turkey songs on it! It'll keep me amused throughout the journey as well as the third installment of the book series starring Ever Moore and Damon in an immortal love story. Love. It.

Packed!

I wish my suitcase looked like that...

But, mines not that bad and it shouldn't be as I have just spent the last two hours packing it! I didn't think that it would take that long to pack for one week, especially as my mum had already seperated my toileteries into four seperate clear bags! I still have things to do like change my money into Lira and buy a kaftan and some flip flops because I cannot find mine ANYWHERE!

More excited now and also starving as I haven't had any lunch yet. I'm still in my PJs and I have to go into town and then a thing at school for my friends textile piece! I always leave things until last minute!

Holiday Time!

Summer is here!
I am a very lucky lady concerning the holiday department. In two days I will be on a plane jetting to Turkey with nine of my close girlfriends. It is very exciting indeed and on Saturday, I made the list of what I am to take... Seven night outfits (as we're staying for a week) which consist of:
Denim shorts & White strapless top
Brown shorts & Orange strapless top
Sailor Playsuit (brand new from Matalan!)
               Two Primarni dresses
               Orange & Cream Dress
Black raa raa skirt & Purple top

So, those are my night time outfits for Turkey, combined with flats as we decided that we weren't taking heels. If people decide to, it's their holiday as much as mine and quite frankly, I don't want any arguments on this one as
it is my first girls holiday with an amazing group of girls.

I return on the 14th and six days later, I will be in the airport again with the destination of La Isla Amable... Tenerife. My second home. I'm extremely lucky with this one as my cousin said in passing that I should go with her when she returned later in the Summer and it is actually happening! It didn't seem real until I actually booked the flights. That was only last weekend, I think. Now, I just need to make sure that I have the holiday booked off work, but, even if I don't, I'm going. It is so exciting! I haven't decided what I'm taking there yet, but, it is party non-stop and I have new heels. Yes, this holiday is one where I am taking heels. My feet are going to hate me because it's all on a steep hill that kill your   legs in flip flops... I only live once.

Friday 25 June 2010

Twenty Fifth June, Two Thousand and Ten.

A lot to discuss in this post today. Well, only two major things really...
Firstly, something happy and exciting... I have finally finished my exams! I am done with school forver! Unless I don't get the grades I need for Roehampton, then I'm screwed. But, I'm not thinking like that. The exam was okay, I suppose, but this last week I have been breathing Spanish, so I'm having a little break from it.

Michael Jackson

If you don't know what day it is today, then I, personally, am ashamed. Of course it is the anniversary of the death of the King of Pop. Yes, it has been a year to the day that I was in London for the first time ever (and now I'm going to be living there in September!) where we found out the dreaded, shocking and truly unbelievable news of MJ's death. It's true that I didn't believe it when a friend of mine received a text stating the horrible fact.

A close friend of mine always says that the memory of MJ's death is my face the next morning watching the rerun of Jackson's videos on the news. Apparently, I looked like I was about to cry. The next day, I did.

So, that was when he died. Since then, I have obtained the entire collection of his albums, admittedly not the various compilations of the top ten or top twenty, but I have every song he ever released. Also, my mum and dad bought me the classic 'This Is It' DVD that I (again admittedly) missed in the cinema.

He has been so influencial in my life as an artist, that I got his song lyrics tattooed on my skin and I continually listen to his music every day. Most importantly, his song 'Keep the Faith' has been a mantra for my exams and it has calmed my nerves (just slightly) every time. For that, I thank him... for making a difference in my life.

Xtina is back!

I should be studying for my final exams next week and the week after but I have to comment about Christina Aguilera's new video.

There is a lot of debate on the youtube link arguing about whether Aguilera is a copycat of Gaga or vise-versa. Frankly, I think that neither are copying one another. It's true that there are similar qualities of the videos such as the lesbianism in 'Not Myself Tonight' and 'Paparazzi/LoveGame', however, it doesn't mean that they're copying one another. TaTu used to do the continual homosexual scenes for their music (apparently something to do with their manager wanting them to be lesbians) so who is to say that Gaga or Xtina haven't copied off them but on a larger scale as obviously they are much more popular than Tatu ever were.

In a word, this video is raunchy but I have to take my hat off to Miss Aguilera as she is now a mother. Some people are saying that she shouldn't be doing this type of thing now that she's a mother but I think that is wrong. She should be able to do what she likes as if she were still a single woman. This shows her independance as a performer and I, for one, am glad that she's pushing the bounderies because isn't that what music and performance is all about?

End of an Era.

The end is near. Only of this chapter of my life though - I've still got a hell of a journey to make yet.

I cannot believe that it has been seven years since I started my secondary school, the legendary Weatherhead High School!! Honestly, it has been the best time of my life and I have loved everything about being a girl in high school.

Yesterday was the Leavers Assembly and I don't think I have seen so many people cry in one room (me being one of them!) and it's amazing how everyone has grown as friends together in our year! So, we left on a high... getting very drunk and drinking from at the latest one in the afternoon until at least (for me anyway) 3 o'clock this morning. It was a very long afternoon and one of the most fun in a long time.

I'm not going to lie... I'm going to miss it!

But, Roehampton... here I come!!

Love Sucks

I am sad. I'm an English girl who got herself so completely obsessed over the story (& hot blood suckers) of The Vampire Diaries that I asked my (also equally sad) friend to email me the link so that I could catch up with America and see what they had seen on this phenomonal show.

Can I just say... the finale!! I'm not going to say what or who or whatever but Oh My God! That was a huge twist! It was amazing and I just sat with my laptop on the arm of the couch (whilst trying to sit still as I had just had a spray tan) nearly bouncing up and down with the excitement of what had just occured on that screen! I cannot describe how fantastic it was! I am so so excited for Season 2!! Los padres got me the books for my birthday so I will definitely be reading them even though I have exams which are too important to not revise for (although I haven't really started).

I love the ENTIRE cast even Bonnie who turned a bit weird towards the end of the series but got back on track with the good side in the last episode (thank God!). Damon and Elena NEED to happen even if it's just for one episode! I know that there is an incling that Nina and Ian are together in real life - just look at the photos of them together, it's so obvious - but come on! Elena and Damon are a must.

I used to be Team Stefan, but, now, I am definitely Team Damon aka the Bad Brother. What's not to love? Plus, there has to be something to make the whole world shocked because Elena's so... Stefan, Stefan, Stefan. I mean I do love Stefan, he is perfect boyfriend material (although in some episodes maybe not...) but Damon all the way!

Update.

A piece of advice... at your birthday party, do not accept every drink. Or have two shots straight after one another. It's not a good idea. Think of your future self the next morning suffering... a lot!

Yes, it was party time for me on Saturday night and I cannot remember half of it which is not something that I wanted for my party. To be honest, that is the first time that I've forgotten things on a night out and I don't recommend it at all!

It was a good party though!!

So, I am now an official adult which was kind of scary when I was thinking about it to my naive 17 year old self. But, I haven't changed one bit apart from the fact that I can now LEGALLY drink whereas before I was breaking the law. It's going to be fun times not having to worry about needing a friend's ID just so I can paint the town red on a Thursday or Saturday night.

Spanish exam resit today. It went okay, some parts were hard aka the parts with the majority of the marks but what can you do? It's over now and I just have to wait unitl August when I find out my results. Nail biting stuff!

Tonight... eating duck and other chinese bits with some friends. Love it!

Gossip Girl; Take 2...

Apparently my last post was a post too soon as my life turned into the life of the likes of Blair or Serena.
There was a break up and now it's a bitch fest!
Seriously, people need to get a grip and stay out of a break up which is between two people not one person and the whole friends list on Facebook!!

But, the aspect of the gossip girl life is only the shit bit with the bitching aka without the boys, the City and the Bass. Don't get me wrong, a bit of goss does every girl good! I have to know something knew with the OMG Factor at least once a day. It's fab.
Yet, when it comes to a close friend being stabbed in the back, I turn evil. You could even say that I turn into someone like Queen B. I will do anything to make sure my friends are happy.

So, I'll turn this into a little bit of a fashion/GG starlet post as I love them!

Here is what I think the girls are like fashion-wise in GG:

Serena: She is like the New York socialite version on Sienna Miller and Kate Moss, not as rock chick as KM but boho styled. I love love love her style! The floaty tops, short shorts to show off her great pins, a low cleavage that  on any normal person like me would look really cheap. Night time, I am thinking goddess.

Blair: Blair is the preppy girl, bows, headbands, shirts, skirt suits and pop socks for day time - always always coordinated. Night time, she is beautiful with her sophisticated dresses. She wears them with such sophistication that it's almost sexy and certainly is to the opposite sex.

Jenny: Jenny has changed the most throughout the entire series. She's come from little innocent girl to Punk Princess and it goes for Taylor Momsen as the actress herself also. Her black liner and nearly white blond hair remind me of Blondie. She combines punk and retro chic together to create an individual style that only she can pull off.

Vanessa: Almost forgot Vanessa. Don't know how I managed that but hey... V. is a boho babe, more than S. with her long golden chains, pink eyeshadow and beautiful cotton dresses (even for night time) which strikes a bit of an individual which is what fashion is all about.

So, they are las chicas of Gossip Girl, not including gossip girl herself although I know the actress. As for the character, she could be some sweaty student in glasses sitting at a laptop all day every day although I highly doubt that as she's from the Upper East Side. That is a guess. I'm not totally sure, but it's an educated guess.

As for the beautful boys... here is a pic of each just for some eye candy...

02.05.10

If only I got the gossip like gossip girl.

On Friday night, (yes I stayed in and continued to stay in last night also) I started watching Season 2 of gossip girl and how I love it! Drama, drama, drama. How amazing would that be to be the ultimate gossip! Although, who wants to be a bitch by dropping every single person in it? Then again, she never gets caught, obviously.

But, the thing is... I am a gossip, I love to gossip but I wouldn't share some of the things I hear everyday on here even if I wanted to because it would get back to me and also, who wants to hear about the gossip where I live? No-one is a socialite although there is a definite hierarchy going on in this place like it is everywhere else.

Furthermore, why be a gossip girl when you can go out and be the one who is being gossiped about? It cannot be a good life sitting on a laptop all day every day just to be updated by every person in your area. I suppose that is why blackberry's and whatnot have been invented.

So, instead of a gossip-filled Sunday, I have to be in work in an hour and a half... maybe in the future I will become more of a blogging gossip, but for now, I'll just gossip with my friends, or sometimes teachers as I found out on Friday. Yes, I find something out that a teacher knew. It was pretty big gossip for school.

In My Head

This song is in my head and has been since listening to it in The Kray on Saturday night!! I love it! And it's one of those songs that I haven't heard in FOREVER! I was singing it in work on Sunday in my hyder stage of the day, right before the 'my-legs-are-dead- stage of the day as well as 'I'm in Miami Chick'.

Mucho love!

Should Be Working....

I should be doing my Film coursework which is due in tomorrow! It is the final draft therefore it has to be perfect and I am no where near done! My attention span is on a shorter leash than usual due to the total of just-over-three hours sleep I had last night due to rolling in at 5am this morning and having to get up for work at around quarter past eight this morning. You can imagine me in work, eyes half closed, bags underneath them, trying to tidy/ help customers / trying to keep my legs from dying underneath me.

Basically, the short of the blog is I am very tired and have a lot of work to do! For example, a Spanish mock tomorrow that I have not even glanced at any kind of note for! I am going to fail. Then, an English mock on Wednesday and I'm supposed to be going out again on Thursday. I don't think my body will be able to cope!

I'm listening to Somos El Mundo again. I love it.

Homework!

I should really go and do some... but I love blogging too much! Just been clicking Next Blog, Next Blog, Next Blog... found some really cool ones... but need to go do some homework. Seriously. I have exams soon! I need to pass to go to London where my blogging will become much more interesting as my life will become much more interesting!

A Bit of Spanish Flavour

As a student of Spanish (hoping to carry it on at university depending on the grades) I love finding new things like music, film, magazines etc. So, last year, at the end of AS Level, I was having to make a tough decision on whether to take Film for A2 or Media. I was voting for Media all the way through AS as I loved the class, the teacher, the course but as soon as my Film teacher said "We will be studying Mexican Cinema for the exam next year", my mind was set.

We started to watch Pan's Labyrinth, a film by Guillermo del Toro and I fell in love with th
e narrative. Then, I got told that I would be watching it in my Spanish lessons aswell. So, you can imagine, they would both overlap each other. A bit annoying. So, Pan's Labyrinth has ended up playing a double role in my A2 year: Film, a part, though not huge in my exam for Mexican Cinema and Spanish: a 400 word essay on (most likely) a theme in the film. A lot of marks/ points right there on just one film that is going to (hopefully/fingers crossed/hope to God) get me into Roehampton.

Also in the Film course for this year, half of the coursework was a 'Small Scale Research Project' on a topic of our choice. Keeping with the Spanish theme, I chose Penélope Cruz: 'La Encantadora'. I had to check with my teacher whether it was okay to do it and thank god he let me. The final draft of that is d
ue in on Monday! Eek. I will do some later though, try and get it all done before tomorrow so I can hand it to him and have any last, final, final redraft to do over the weekend.

I love her, think she's a natural beauty and can act! Plus, she started teaching herself english at the age of eighteen and is basically fluent! I wish I was fluent at Spanish but I can only dream. Maybe when I've spent my third year of uni abroad and find a Spanish man to marry. That is the dream! Bilingual children. I would love that!

The thing that provoked my idea of this blog was the Latina version of 'We Are The World' for Haiti 25 aka Somos El
Mundo. I fell in love with the American one and now, I have fell in love with the spanish version! It's true, as one of the girls was saying in Spanish the other day, that there is a kind of Spanish version of British people in the version e.g. the oldish guy with the poweful voice aka Tom Jones. I love Shakira's part, the chorus. I love her voice. It's different.

I'm such a Spanish fan/freak/swot, whichever way you look at it, that I have a tattoo in Spanish. Yes, I am only seventeen so yes, it was illegal but I can say that I got a tattoo when I was 17. I've always wanted one and originally I wanted one on the back of my neck, what was I thinking?? I cannot believe I wanted one there, then I wanted one on my hip, then on the inner of my wrist. I've always wanted something to do w
ith the word 'Faith' as it is such a lovely word and means so much universally and it also means Faye so it was personal aswell. Then, I was listening to Michael Jackson, going through a phase and came across 'Keep the Faith' so then I wanted that but in Spanish. I was looking through tattooed celebs and saw that Hayden Panetierre had one down the side of her back and I fell in love. So, I had 'Mantenga la fe' which wasn't long enough in my opinion. In my mums opinion it was long enough but not mine. So, after staring at Hayden's picture of her tattoo for long enough I decided to nick her idea of 'live without regrets' - turn it into spanish and you have 'viva sin lamentos'. I made sure it was all spelt right with the right tense and everything before I went to the tattoo parlour and there we have it: Mantenga la fe y viva sin lamentos. It hurt, but, not as bad as people think. There was only one part which felt like a needle being dragged through my skin and that's what tattoos are really. The rest of it was fine, some parts even tickled the tiniest bit.

On the skin:

That was a couple of days after the initial tattooing. It's faded a tiny bit now though, but it's still there.

I'm a bit obsessed with anything Spanish if I'm honest.

Three weeks today..

is my birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!! CANNOT wait!!! And, today I ordered my birthday/party dress which is in three weeks on Saturday so I am SUPER DUPER excited about that!!

The dress is from lipsy, has been reduced! So far
it is going my way although there was a slight hiccup when I looked about three days ago as it had no stock in my size but now it does!!

I love it... LOVE it... LOVE it...

So, to get me in shape for my birthday which is also my new obsession (not losing weight or anything like that but actually doing the DVD) is Pump It Up!! I love it! And recently I have just transferred onto the Advanced Power Mix 2 section which is so much more fun. I love the heel digs personally even though I still get them wrong! It's a tricky dance step but so much fun!GO BUY NOW!

Busy Bee...

OH MY GOSH!! (now listening to Usher's new song which i love)
It describes my recent feelings of the past week or so because I have had such a busy week. It's unreal.
I woke up on Tuesday morning quite excited about the day ahead - travelling in LONDON. I love London! Me and my mum got everything ready and she even had to take a cheeky trip to the local Primark, getting there before 9am so that she could buy a bag that was London etiquette and also cheap and also big enough for her stuff. Whilst she did that, I got my bag ready, both bags from London Fashion Week! Mum returned and we went to get the 9:46 bus to Liverpool.
It didn't come until 10:08.
Of course, madre was panicking because she thought we were going to miss the 10:48 train.
We got there at around 10.20 so it was fine. Even had time to take a trip to WH Smith's and buy some reading material aka Glamour and Cosmopolitan.
We jumped onto the train and sat in the Quiet Zone where at first we weren't so quiet. I don't exactly have a quiet voice therefore I got a few looks saying 'Be quiet or die!'. I didn't.
I'd started reading The Host by Stephenie Meyer and o to the m to the g, i LOVE it!! It is such an amazing book and it's different aswell with the furturistic idea that the human race will die out to souls. How cool is that idea? And then humans are the outsiders! Plus, it kind of shows humanity as sticking together no matter what race or sex you are because let's face it, if the scenario did happen, no ones going to exactly be prejudice against other people of their own kind. I loved it! Finished it on Wednesday on the way home.
At 1.00 we arrived in Landan Town to go and jump on the Victoria line to Vauxhall. The tube wasn't too busy. Knowing the outings that my mother and I have, something was bound to go wrong. It did. Firstly, the tickets wouldn't work to get the train to Barnes, bust luckily, there was such a nice train ticket guy that he let us through. I fell in love.
We arrived in Barnes and walked for ten minutes in the heat and found Roehampton University and i fell in love. It was amazing. I love, love, love it!! Spoke to the security guard on what was the best way to get to Premier Inn South Wimbledon and he said taxi or bus. We got the next bus at around 2:15 and there was the most beautiful boy in the world on that bus. And I nearly crashed into him at one point. Oh well. He looked Spanish, short black hair, tattoo on his forearm. Heaven on Earth.
He got off a few stops later.
Devostated.
Back to my journey... we decided to get off at Wimbledon Town because we thought that it would be near there. Was it? No. Walked in circles, asked in a travel agents where we could get a taxi and walked down a very long road to the train station. Found a taxi!!!
We arrived at the hotel at around 3:20 and literally fell onto the bed.
After relaxation, at 4.30 we went over the road to Sainsbury's and Marks and Spencers to look around and get a drink for me. Headed back to the hotel and mother and I had a heart to heart. I loved it, brought a tear to my eye talking about different things. I love her I do.
Just after 7pm we went to Pizza Hut, basically the restaurant that I am always in in London and I was so full after two pieces of garlic bread and half a small pizza! I was not on form, at all.
Got back just after 8pm and I prepared myself for Vampire Diaries which was outstanding! Beyond amazing. I loved it. Mum refused to watch because she doesn't like vampires. But I loved.
Bed and lights out at 10.00.

Woke
up at 7.30, breakfast done by 9.10, got stuff together and in the taxi at 9.35 (already late for registration at Roehampton University). Arrived at 10.55 after the longest route ever with the slowest taxi driver. Why is it that when you're in a rush, the taxi driver takes forever??
The day was fabulous, had a mini tour by another hot guy! Had a taster class in English which was good. It was on sonnets and they have been drilled into me. Seriously. Had a talk on Student life. I love it. 30 minutes away from Central London. I've always wanted to live in London so I think I will have a great time there! Went to Oxford Street had Nando's for tea and came home at 8.10. Didn't actually get into my house until 11.25. So of course, I was tired.

Friday 16th = DOOMS DAY = Spanish A2 oral. Went okay and lets just say that the weekend was non stop, hence why now on Sunday night at 8pm I am ready to go to sleep. Might make my choice on UCAS official now though. It is very exciting times.

Monday 12 April 2010

Exciting Things

This time tomorrow (11:49) I will be travelling down to 'Landan Town' with the mother to prepare for the next day of looking around Roehampton University!!! I am very excited to be back in London even if it is for only one night. I cannot wait to go to Oxford Street either! Shopping time on Wednesday afternoon and maybe a trip to Southbank? Very excited!! I hope that I LOVE Roehampton!! I would love to live in London for my entire university life. It would be amazing!!

Thursday 8 April 2010

Thursday 8th April

It has been nearly a month since I have written a blog!!! This is NOT good!! I need to keep on top of these things and so I shall give the reasons... or lack of them... to why I havn't been blogging.

Firstly, I am in my last year of school aka going to university in September!! (It's very exciting times / very daunting times because I have no idea whether I will actually get into university or not... I'm hoping, wishing, begging that I will!) As a result of this, it means final exams... the joys of final exams. My first one is next Friday! Aagghhh. I don't want it to arrive plus it's Spanish speaking! A2! I had a practise with my teacher yesterday morning (yes, I went into school in the Easter Hols) and it was okay I suppose, she gave good feedback. However, my presentation on Belle Epoque is too long so I need to come some of it down! Fabulous. Another burden for myself to worry about as if I didn't have enough to worry about. So, that's my little rant about my Spanish exam over.

Next, on the subject of school, exams and university... the madre and I are travelling down to Roehampton, London next Tuesday to go to the Applicant Day on the Wednesday (yes, two days before my exam! Stress much!) which I am very very very excited about!! I cannot wait to go to see the university and it will only be my third time in London - I am a crazy cat deciding to have a choice of university in London when I made my choices only after being there once. I've always wanted to go to a uni in London even before going to the city itself. That is how crazy I am! So, after the stress of sorting the train times and getting the tickets and FINALLY finding a place to stay after searching Google maps and allinlondon.com for a few days we are staying at Wimbledon South, a good fifteen minute drive away from the uni so we best get that taxi booked early because there is no way I am going to be that person who walks in late to an auditorium full of people. No way!

Another main reason is that I have started writing again. How I have missed my story. Not saying anything about the plot. Only one person knows about it and she doesn't even know the updated version yet, not that it is anywhere NEAR finished! I have about fifteen rough completions of chapters - it's going to be a big debut but some of the chapters are half a page to two/three pages, so it's not much. It is very exciting though!!

OMG!! I have to write a sentence about my love: The Vampire Diaries. It is amazing, too amazing! I love it so so much. Seriously, my Tuesday's are just for VD, once 9pm comes, the TV is on ITV2, I am under the covers, glasses on and lights switched off. It is perfect and I am not to be disturbed, that is how sacred my time watching VD is. Yes, I am that sad. Cannot wait until next week because as always there was so much drama and cliff hangers in Tuesdays episode. I'm making my mum watch it in London and she doesn't really like stuff like this as it's jumpy and has vampires in, but I don't care. She'll have her book and I'll be selfishly watching my show.

Oh, and I do actually have a social life aswell. Although lately, there havent been any parties but there are a few coming up, including mine next month! VERY excited!!!

London Fashion Weekend

A few of the photographic evidence of London Fashion Weekend...

Shock Horror

It should have been a nice, normal, non-shocking Film lesson today in school, so I wasn't feeling scared or nervous. My teacher was saying 'You have 'Natural Born Killers' to watch for homework and make notes on for Monday... so, today... we're going to watch The Exorcist.' He then turned to me and laughed as well as a good friend of mine. This is because I hate the idea of watching The Exorcist!!!

He stuck the film on and I sat there at the back of the class with my mate poking me, trying to make me jump. I slapped his arm, but he continued through the agonizing thirty minutes that I watched of the film. When she said "It's okay, I'll walk home..." I was thinking ARE YOU STUPID??!!!! But nothing happened, and then the Ouiji board came out with the young girl and her mother. Again, I was thinking the same question with more explitives... why are characters in films so stupid? You would think (thinking of the Ouiji board) I've heard bad stories about playing this game yet they still do it.

The bit that got me (and everybody was looking at me for my reaction at this point, including the teacher, laughing at me, which made me feel worse!) was when there was a mauling sound coming from the attic and it was night time and all the woman had was a stupid little candle that lit nothing up... she had to pull the stairs down to get up there didn't she. You would think, I'll wait until the morning when it is brighter and there are more people around.. or I wont go up at all, but, no, she had to climb the stairs didn't she. I was a nervous wreck, sitting in the dark classroom with people watching me expecting my reaction. I left my trusted scarf in the common room so I couldn't hide behind that. All I was left with was my small notepad that I was supposed to be making notes on. There was nothing up there but a random man. Such an anti-climax.

My teacher got up to get the remote about five minutes before the bell and I thought 'Thank God! He's going to switch it off! I can prepare myself for Monday!' He saw me looking at him and read my mind because he just pointed the remote at the DVD Player and kept smirking! Eventually, the film came off! I was then the example of what we're studying as a class. He said that my reactions were more interesting than the film itself! Thanks.

I have to watch 'Natural Born Killers' tonight, on my own. I think that I might leave the light on whilst watching that and watch the comedy, 'Belle Epoque' for my Spanish exam. A not so fabulous Friday night in for me, doing work. I might try and squeeze in Pineapple Express after. I doubt it's going to happen because I'll probably be on Facebook all night.

I shall begin preparing myself for Monday's round of 'The Exorcist'.

We Are The World 25 For Haiti

I first heard this song and watched it also, last week before leaving my house for school. It made me leave a bit later than usual for the thirty minute walk, but, it was worth it!

So, I switch the channel to Viva and I see the logo for the song... it took me a while even then to click on to that it was a song by Michael Jackson originally! Shameful I know, being the obsessed fan and all. So, all these massive singers on this song for Haiti and they sing it pretty amazingly if I say so myself! I didn't actually sit down; I was in so much awe of these people and this song and then... Michael Jackson came onto the screen, the original footage of when he released his video for We Are The World. Well, I was already emotional and that just set me off to tears! I could not stop crying over the song and his death and the people in Haiti!! An emotional wreck was what I was and I had to then walk to school with tears in my eyes and the wind made it worse!!

When the song first went into the rap towards the end, my gut reaction was 'What the hell are you doing to this song?!!!! You've ruined it!!' but then I got used to it and realising that Will.i.am was a part of that production, I began to like it, then love it!

In comparison to our Brits effort of a Haiti charity song, America wins hands down! My opinion is biased of course towards the fact that MJ is in the American single, therefore, it raced passed the finish line before Britain had crossed the half way point of the track. I still love 'Everybody Hurts' though... it made me emotional.

Danny Morris.

Today, Danny Morris graced us with his presence for a concert in aid of Haiti during the lunch hour of school and boy, were the girls screaming for him! The mobiles were out with the cameras rolling and I swear, there were five phones in the row just in front of me, the girls all eager to catch a recording of the ex Eton Road member.

He sang his new single 'Scream' available to download right now which I am going to do right after this blog is done because it is something to scream about. Think Timbaland's 'Scream' and you'll get what it's about. Then, to close the show, Danny sang the 'getting-into-the-mood-for-clubbing' song 'Forever' by Chris Brown and danced across the stage that made a lot of us girls want to get up and dance with him!

After the show finished, a mob of uniformed girls ran down to the front of the stage to beg for autographs. Of course, he signed homework diaries, flimsy pieces of paper. Luckily,
Jonathan Dutton, radio presenter and Spanish buddy knows him so, I have connections for my personalised autograph!!

My New Obsession.

The Vampire Diaries is now in session for viewing and has been for the past few weeks. If I'm honest, I wasn't that bothered about watching it or not due to the immense hype that I had already obtained through the vampy love between Bella and Edward in Twilight.

I missed the first five to ten minutes of the first ever episode due to the classic (but true) excuse of 'I was washing my hair' and got under the covers (hair still wrapped in a towel) to watch this new Vampire show.

Let's just say that after that Tuesday night of a double episode, I was hooked and still am, completely! Utterly hooked! The story was admittedly a lot like the love between Bella and Edward with a bit of a hunky bad boy older brother thrown into the mix! I actually screamed when I saw Damon (Ian Somerhalder) come onto the screen just for the sheer look of him. He is beautiful. I cannot decide which of the brothers, the other being gorgeous Stefan, that I would choose! It is a hard decision for us teenage girls, having so much choice! The day after I watched the first episode, I spent my English lesson on imdb.com looking through: pictures of the characters, what the cast had been in, plot stories - anything I could find.

My new obsession is on tonight at 9pm of which I am so very excited for due to the cliff hanger of the last episode that left me screaming and jumping up and down on the spot (this happened through the entire episode) I kid you not.

If my friends were reading this, they would be shocked as I have to say that The Vampire Diaries is better than Twilight and it was written in 2002, before Stephanie Meyer had her dream of Edward in June 2005. So it is NOT a copy.

A definite 5 stars!!!!!

Film Review.

Literally, fifteen to twenty minutes I got into my house and it is 00:12 as I write this on Tuesday morning. However, I have to write this blog so that I don't forget anything but the film is crammed into my head, all the visual effects, the sounds. Everything!

I admit, it felt a little long and a friend of mine suggested that the Heaven parts were a tad long. I agree on some part, however the montage of the scenes where Susie and Holly are playing on the Earth made of grass and sledging through ice and snow and pretending to be on a fashion shoot were cleverly done with music to match. The music matched the magical portrayal of Susie's 'inbetween'. A sanctuary for her when she was at her happiest just before Heaven. Moreover, the darkness of Susie's thoughts and dreams in Heaven were also significant to the fact that Harvey still played a huge role in her life although she was dead. When the concrete crumbled which was cross cutted with the mental breakdown of her father illustrated that as he crumbled, so did Susie's world. This was one of the greatest aspects of the film: the intertwining of real life on Earth and Susie's bubble in Heaven.

The narrative was a slow start compared to the book, however, the changes made could be seen as immense ones that Peter Jackson, director of the film made. It was magical in the way that images in Heaven forshadowed events to come and admittedly, I jumped at most three times in this 12a movie due to Mr Harvey being a very scary character! Even after studying the book for English Literature and knowing what was to come, I jumped thanks to the music played and the quick movement juxtaposed with the slow movement before it.

I have to write about what I thought was the pinnacle of the movie and the most emotional. For me, it was when Susie finally met all of the previous victims of George Harvey. When she saw them dead in their various places I almost thought of the film having elements of the horror genre of which the dead women would jumped out or turn their heads towards Susie. This did not happen. Instead, the scene afterwards at the tree of flying birds it seemed, created an emotional response from me as a viewer in the audience. When the women came towards Susie, skipping, hand in hand, throwing a ball, it displayed that idiomatic phrase of 'every cloud has a silver lining'. It showed that the girls had moved on from their 'inbetween' and were ready to take Susie to Heaven. And when the six year old ran to Susie to give her a hug and then take her hand caught my throat. It showed such innocence of a small child and the truth that this very issue has happened before again and again and it will continue in the future. That little girl represented many who have been hurt and vandalised in a way that would destroy them.

Overall, an amazing story with brilliant cast and some time must be spared after watching in order to take it all in and actually think about the characters of the story and who they represent in our society. A must see.

Four stars.
