Michael Jackson

I thought it was about time I dedicated a blog to the King Of Pop: Michael Jackson. Although he died just under two months ago, I am doing one now because a) I have only just started blogging very recently and b) I'm going through another phase of listening to his music at least once everyday, like right now for instance: Come Together.

I saw an advert for The Beatles on playstation of some sort; a singing game and Come Together was the soundtrack by The Beatles and I thought to myself, that is an MJ track and for the life of me, I could not remember what the song was called! So, I listened to the lyrics again and again whenever I was watching TV and the advert came on and finally I typed it into youtube and oila, I have Come Together (now also in my Favourites list).

So, this leads me to the sudden need of writing a blog about the King of Pop.

I first remember watching Michael Jackson's video for Black & White in my neighbours house when I was about six or seven years old and I have loved him since then. He is ultamitely the musical genious of probably, any generation. There will be no-one like him in my lifetime. After that, I used to ask my Dad to buy me old copies of CDs from car boot sales. He got me books and posters aswell and I was turning into an avid fan, reading anything in the news about him.

I got my first proper source of him from my godmother when she was having a clear out. She gave me three of his albums: Off The Wall (which I then lost), the obvious bestseller Thriller and Bad. I do not know how many times I listened to those albums - over and over and over again. Billie Jean was an obvious favourite and Thriller and Beat It. I used to listen to those tracks (4,5,6 I think, if my memory is correct) repeatedly. Dangerous was the next album and I became obsessed with his 90s music. It was so much more upbeat and modern and just fantastic. I just loved it all! Songs that are the favourite of the album have got to be In the Closet featuring Naomi Campbell and Who Is It? I think with Who Is It, it's the beginning bit with the harmony choir. I do not know why I like that, but I do. Actually, I used to have the Dangerous album on tape and I remember one time sitting on some grass right next to my house and thinking I was cool to listen to a bit of MJ on my cassette player. Invicible followed in the Christmas of 2002 when it came out and I saw it on the shelves of Woolworths which is no more either!

So, at different times, I became obsessed with different styles of his music and the love grew from there.

It was so weird a week before his death; I started becoming obsessed with his music again - the Invincible album mainly, his last album and 4music had a few shows about him. It was as if the world was getting ready for his departure although really it was for the upcoming This Is It tours that no-one was going to see.

A week later at roughly quarter to midnight, I was sitting in London's Hard Rock Cafe with my school as we were on a school trip when someone text my friend saying that Michael Jackson was dead. We didn't believe it, but, her friend confirmed it and so it became apparent to everyone that the King of Pop was dead.

The next morning it was all over the news and I stood watching the show reel of him growing up over and over. I didn't want to move. I was utterly depressed at that point in time. My parents rang and said they had cried.

So, that brings me to the present. I bought his biography and the two remaining CDs that I needed to complete the collection and took the collection to Tenerife. The entire complex were listening to MJ by the pool. And now I listen to a bit of MJ every day.

He is an icon and that really is it.

New Moon

I am so very excited about November after seeing the official New Moon trailer and oh my god, the excitement of it!!! I cannot wait to go and see the full film. I love the effects of when Bella thinks she can see Edward and then he just disappears, or fades away. Technology today is truly magical. And the acting is fenominal especially Kristen Stewart when she is having nightmares. It must have took a lot of effort and courage to do that scene in front of about twenty crew members. I salute her.
I cannot wait to see it and I am sure that every other girl in the world is excited also.

Bring on the Sequins

Sequins are a fashion must have this Autumn and every girl must own a sparkly item for that night out on the town.

REPUBLIC have amazing taste in sequins. I went to town last week and I found a dress that I adored!! It has officially been put in my mental wish list:

This on a night out will be sure to turn heads as you sparkle through the room, teamed with a pair of shoe boots is the perfect outfit that is on trend right now. Or you could dress it down with an oversized blazer and converse for the day look. Even then, heads will be spinning to look at you.

Another look full of sequins is the blazer. Wear it with a white t-shirt and jeggings. From my wardrobe, I would wear my white Michael Jackson t-shirt exclusive to Next and a pair of skinny's for ultamite daytime chic.

So, Republic is the place to be for the sparkle and with (I know, way too early) so many weeks until Christmas it is clearly the best fashion statement a girl could have this Autumn, so go out and buy, buy, buy!!

Dress: £26.99, Republic.
Blazer: £39.99, Republic.

The Dream

Hey guys, this is the first blog and I hope you enjoy :)

Basically, the dream is to get into Glamour magazine. To me, it is the best women's magazine there is on the shop shelves with everything from fashion and beauty to love and sex which covers every woman's need in a monthly Bible. Yes, Glamour is my Bible.

I started reading Glamour last July when I went on holiday to Tenerife (the best holiday anyone could ask for!) and I needed something to read. I have a thing where I have to have something to read on holiday. Anyway, I went to the local supermarket and saw Glamour magazine; the edition with Fearne Cotton on the front. It was Fearne Cotton, who I love so I decided to buy it and I couldn't put it down.

Just over a year on, I'm obsessed with buying Glamour every single month and it really is a great magazine so if you have never read it, you really should. At the moment, Renée Zellweger is the cover girl who looks gorgeous as always and the photo story is amazing inside.

So, I've told you the dream and getting there is going to be hard work, but if I can manage it then it is all good.

Random;Life;Dream will be a blog about anything that I want to write about; my articles on celebs, real life, movies, music... anything that comes to mind, so enjoy and happy blogging.
